Maritime Education

The Ship Superintendent is the interface between the ship and the shipping company’s shore office. The job involves providing support to the shipboard management team in ensuring that the ship is at all times safe, efficient, environmentally friendly, compliant with international Regulations and earning a profit for the shipowner.

Knowledge, skills and attitudes acquired on board in managing ship operations need to be enhanced considerably when taking up a senior management level appointment ashore in a shipping company. These Programs bridge this gap for a Ship Master or Chief Engineer who is aspiring to this coveted shore-based assignment.

The Course content is based on the prestigious DNV Standard for Certification No.3.301.- Competence of Ships’ Superintendents.

The learning will be at the candidates' own pace and available time. Learners will also be encouraged to communicate among themselves, and with the Course leaders(Mentors) thus making the exercise a collaborative learning process.

The learners will benefit from this opportunity to share their experiences with the experts in the maritime field -  senior ship superintendents, fleet managers, ship surveyors, shipyard managers and others especially chosen by virtue of their pre-eminence in merchant shipping circles.

" A tailor-made course looking at the job demands of a superintendent and delivered at his desktop in the office or at home. "
